This course is for people involved in Certification, Supervision, Installation and Annual Assessment of Fire and Smoke Dampers.  It will provide a candidate with the knowledge of Acts, Standards and Regulations to be able to assist in the essential fire measures certification process.

Our industry plays an important role in the design, installation and maintenance of Life Safety Systems to support public safety in commercial buildings.  AMCA NSW has delivered a Fire and Smoke Installation and Certification Course to over 900 participants since 2004.  Due to changes associated with both BCA 2016 and Australian Standards applicable to the installation and certification of fire and smoke dampers, we are pleased to advise the introduction of a Refresher program. 

This Refresher Course will provide Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to candidates who have previously completed the AMCA NSW Fire and Smoke Damper Installation and Certification Course.

Candidates will receive up-to-date Standards and relevant material to read before the course; attend a one day face-to-face session and sit an exam at the end of that day.  Candidates who pass the exam will receive a Statement of Completion which will be valid for five years.

AMCA NSW remains committed to ensuring that our industry plays its’ part in the upskilling of workers where they are involved in the installation, maintenance and servicing of Life Safety Systems.

Cancellation Policy

The AMCA reserve the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule events and training courses due to insufficient interest or other reasons beyond our control. In the instance that events or training courses are cancelled, a full refund will be given.

Refund Policy

A full refund will be given if the AMCA is notified in writing a minimum of 4 business days prior to the course commencement date. A 50% administration charge will be incurred if the AMCA is notified within 3 business days or less. No refund will be given if the AMCA is not notified of cancellation.
