Event Detail

The phased changeover to the new Planning Development & Infrastructure Act/Regulations commencing July 2019 has also revised requirements for Essential Safety Provisions and their certification for installation, testing and maintenance through the introduction of Ministerial Building Standard document 002.

Since the presenters last seminar in March 2017 and reference to concerns raised by Services Providers, the proposed objective to legislate increased support and responsibility through other Industry parties in the protection of Service Providers completion of Forms 2 & 3 in the certification process, has now been achieved.

There are many significant changes to be aware of and this seminar identifies specific detailed responsibilities applicable to Forms 1, 2 & 3 and the requirement for inclusion of base line data, inclusion of performance solutions, ongoing record keeping, licensing/training expectations and the mandated listing of defects/ non-conformances that must be disclosed with the building owners annual certification submission to a Council.

This MBS 002 and its associated certification forms applicable to building rules consent represents major improvements for building safety through Industry participation and the additional responsibility applicable to Certifiers, Construction Managers, Service Providers and Building Owners.
