AMCA to Participate in Roundtable on Compliance

Published: 26 July 2018

On 26 July 2018, the Hon Craig Laundy MP (Minister for Small and Family Business; Workplace and Deregulation) invited the AMCA to participate in an industry forum.

The forum will present an opportunity for the AMCA to discuss the final report of the Builders’ Ministers’ Forum (BMF) Expert Assessment: Building Confidence – Improving the effectiveness of compliance and enforcement systems for the building and construction industry across Australia.

The BMF commissioned Professor Peter Shergold AC and Ms Bronwyn Weir to assess the compliance and enforcement problems within the building and construction systems that impact the effective implementation of the National Construction Code (NCC) across Australia.

The Building Confidence Report accessible provided the BMF with a comprehensive package of recommendation to establish a national best practice model for compliance and enforcement.

The Industry Forum will provide the AMCA with an opportunity to express our views on the Report’s recommendation directly to the BMF, including what reforms should be considered and implemented.
