AMCA Responds to City of Melbourne Transport Strategy

Published: 31 July 2018

The AMCA welcomed the City of Melbourne's Transport Strategy Refresh, which provides an opportunity for key stakeholders to reflect on the strategy's implementation to date, allowing further improvements in some areas and a recalibration of others.

While the transport strategy aims to address a range of social, environmental and liveability objectives, including the the minimisation of vehicle congestion, the AMCA encouraged the Council to consider the important role played by essential service providers in ensuring that CBD buildings meet the numerous regulatory and technical requirements relating to health and safety, energy efficiency and building amenity.

Specifically, we asked the Council to ensure that adequate access to buildings be provided to essential service providers in future revisions of the strategy.
