Industry Educational Trade Scholarship

09 May 2022 | VIC

Earlier this month, AMCA welcomed recipients of the Industry Educational Trade Scholarship (IETS) to complete their second and final week of the scholarship. The week’s focus was practical, hands on experience and completion of unit assessments to compliment theory completed online. The practical week was completed at Refrigeration and Climate Control Centre of Excellence (RCCC) at the Box Hill Institute in Melbourne.

AMCA, AREMA and the ARBS Foundation fund the Industry Educational Trade Scholarship (IETS). It is open to AMCA, AREMA and other industry members Australia wide and embodies key units from the Master Refrigeration Program developed by AMCA. Its objective is to improve the quality of knowledge of trades people in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry, promote quality outcomes in the vocational education and training system; and increase the awareness of employers and the community of the benefits of participating in further education.

Apprentices and teachers from ACT and NSW are pictured with one of the learning pods that have been built to simulate industry workplaces. Inclusive of their learning was exposure to the Carbon Dioxide Cascade System, a natural refrigeration system used widely across supermarkets in Australia.

A fantastic experience for all involved!
