AMCA Responds to Transition of RAC Qualification

Published: 28 February 2018

Earlier this year, Australian Industry Standards began the process to revise and update the exiting Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Qualification in accordance with the Commonwealth Government's Standards for VET Accredited Courses 2012.

The Standards cover all aspects of course design and must be met for courses to be accredited and regulated by ASQA.

The AMCA welcomed the opportunity to provide input into the transition process, which is largely administrative and is not intended to result in substantive changes to the learning outcomes of either the qualification as a whole, nor of any single Unit of Competency (UoC).

As a result, the AMCA also expressed our support for a comprehensive review of the qualification as soon as possible to ensure that it meets the needs of industry and the Community.
