In a great result for WA members, CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing will for the first time be offered in WA in 2027.

We are excited to announce that in 2027, CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing will be offered in WA through local not-for-profit training provider Skill Hire.

It is the first time this training has been offered locally, which is a significant boost to the skill development of practitioners and their employers.

The move comes after months of stakeholder negotiation, planning, and consultation with government and will save the WA construction industry hundreds of thousands of dollars in travel and other costs.

AMCA has established a technical working group comprising some of the state’s biggest service providers along with AMCA advisors.

“AMCA is pleased to finally see the delivery of the mechanical services plumbing qualification on the ground in WA,” said Ian Ferguson, WA Advisory Board Chair, and WA representative on the National AMCA Board.

“This qualification is an important step towards increasing the number of apprentices in training, lifting the skill of tradespeople across the sector, and providing a clear career pathway into our industry. It adds real value to our members and marks the beginning of a campaign to raise awareness of the critical role mechanical services plays in the built environment,” added Ian.

It has been a long wait for WA members, but this is an extremely satisfying outcome.
